Across Lapland
Rooted in Rovaniemi, with private itineraries reaching Saariselkä, Levi and Pyhä — and, for those seeking further discretion, rarely offered destinations such as Kuusamo and Kilpisjärvi.
Start in Rovaniemi, move with the snow
Most journeys start in Rovaniemi — the easiest arrival, and closer to genuine wilderness than its reputation suggests. From there we move north or east depending on the snow, the aurora forecast and how far from other people you would like to be.
If you are unsure, tell us the feeling you are after rather than the place. We will suggest the region that fits it.
Rovaniemi
The Arctic Circle and our base. Direct connections, glass igloos and reindeer within half an hour of the runway — with the quiet found as soon as you leave the road.
Saariselkä
Far north and reliably dark. Fell landscapes, some of Finland's strongest aurora statistics, and the wilderness of Urho Kekkonen National Park at the door.
Levi
Lapland's most complete resort fell — skiing, dining and easy logistics — with private safaris departing into the emptiness immediately behind it.
Pyhä
Small, old and unhurried. Ancient forest, steep fells and a scale of place that suits travellers who dislike being one of many.
Kuusamo
Rarely offered. Deep snow-laden forest, gorges and rapids, and a wildlife-watching tradition unlike anywhere else in the country.
Kilpisjärvi
The far north-western arm, where Finland meets Norway and Sweden. Genuine remoteness, and the discretion that comes with it.
